1. Writing:
Introducing Stephen WAN’s GIST Model of Writing
- a. Deciding a clear theme in addressing all parts of the question
- b. Structuring the writing coherently and cohesively
- c. Developing ideas with full deployment of lexical resources
- d. Enhancing awareness of using a wide grammatical range with accuracy
2. Reading:
- a. Learning advanced reading skills
- b. Developing a pool of vocabulary
- c. Reading with comprehension
3. Speaking:
- a. Empowering speaking ability by learning International Phonetic Alphabets
- b. Enhancing pronunciation accuracy by strengthening three ‘Ts’ (tone, tonicity, tonality) training
- c. Using lexical resources flexibly and precisely
- d. Speaking fluently with rare repetition or self-correction
4. Listening
- a. Identifying stresses and weak forms
- b. Learning commonly used formulaic expressions
